Play-Based Learning
Little Olive Tree Preschool is a state certified program for children twelve months to five years of age. Our signature preschool is designed to combine the social and educational benefits of a center with the distinctiveness and flexibility of small group care. We encourage creativity and inventiveness through play-based learning. We teach children to problem solve, to take risks through exploration, and to understand emotions and empathy for others. We do this by providing lessons that explore self-awareness and by introducing new information and new ideas, so that the child continues building knowledge within him/herself.
Early Language Immersion
Our daily lessons are taught in both English and Spanish. Students become language learners by exposing them to a broad vocabulary through songs, books, circle time and language games. Language teachers are fluent in both Spanish and English.
Additionally, we believe that all children benefit from an inclusive education in which students with and without disabilities learn together. Our goal is to foster a school culture of respect and belonging by providing children opportunities to learn about and accept individual differences.
Age-Specific Classes
Our toddler, preschool and pre-k programs are three independent classrooms. Each one develops a variety of weekly theme-based lessons, using structured routines, natural learning and play. We integrate art, music and dance, yoga, pre-literacy, pre-math and Spanish language into our educational environment. All three classrooms are set up with interest centers such as blocks, dramatic play, reading, sensory, art, science, and music.
Hours of Operation
Little Olive Tree Preschool is open year-round, Monday through Friday. Our program hours are 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
License
Little Olive Tree Preschool is currently licensed by the Child Care Division for 30 children age 12 months through 5 years. The CCD establishes regulations that govern our facility, staff, record keeping, nutrition, and health and safety procedures. Concurrent with CCD regulations, representatives of all agencies involved in certification, and custodial parents have access to all parts of Little Olive Tree Preschool during hours of operation.
